This Explains Nothing
Two decades ago, a group of people active in the field of humanist photography established the Imago Mundi Foundation (image of the world / the world in the image) with the aim of changing the world and deconstructing the mechanisms that govern it—through the image, and by shaping the image of the world itself.
The world has changed, languages have evolved, tools have transformed, yet the imperative remains the same: an unrelenting hunger for systemic change.
Twenty years later, we return to the Places and People with whom our paths have crossed. We meet again—both with artistic spaces and with the individuals and communities behind their programmatic activities.
This event inaugurates the dispersed exhibition “Collection of Ideas”, realized in locations that, in tangible ways, co-create and shape the art scene in Kraków.
Exhibition series: “Place in Space / Space of Place – between institutions and art communities”
“Place in Space / Space of Place” is a performative and exhibition-based program that—within the framework of art—evokes a 20-year perspective of creating a shared field, initiating and sustaining discourse through the engaged participation of diverse actors in the field of culture and art, while being directed toward future scenarios for its evolution.
Let’s meet at PIANA!
Take and share from this—all of you!
In this event, artworks take the form of publications created under the auspices of the Imago Mundi Foundation or in collaboration with us. Each title is treated as a distinct work of art—a separate adventure, challenge, and exhibition to be read.
Participants:
Translations: Anda McBride, Tomasz Bieroń, Piotr Krasnowolski, Paweł Łopatka, Anda MacBride, Monika Ujma, Joanna Wadas
With special participation: Aleka Polis
Co-funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage as part of the Culture – Interventions program, 2025 edition.
